Sahat Kulla e Gjakovës
Sahat Kulla, e quajtur edhe Sahatkulla dhe Sahatkull, është kulla e sahatit të Gjakovës. U ngrit më 1597, pranë xhamisë së re, sepse qyteti kishte mjaft tregti sa të mbante kohën publike.
Sahat Kulla, also called Sahatkulla and Sahatkull, is the clock tower of Gjakova. It rose in 1597 beside the new mosque, because the town was busy enough to keep public time.
Më 1912 u dogj dhe kambana u mor. Kulla e sotme, rreth 30 metra, u rindërtua afër themeleve të vjetra. Plan katror me brinjë rreth 4.10 metra: gur dhe tullë deri te pjesa e vrojtimit, dru sipër, çati plumbi. Në faqen perëndimore janë vendosur gurë të gdhendur nga kulla e parë.
It was burned in 1912 and the bell was taken. Today’s tower, about 30 meters, was rebuilt near the old foundations. A square plan of about 4.10 meters on each side: stone and brick up to the viewing stage, wood above that, a lead roof. Carved stones from the first tower are set into the west face.
Sahatkulla qëndron në fund të Çarshisë së Madhe, me Xhaminë e Hadumit pranë dhe Teqenë e Madhe aty afër.
The clock tower stands at the end of the Grand Bazaar, with the Hadum Mosque beside it and the Great Tekke nearby.
